  • Do not eat or drink anything, including water, gum, mints or candy after midnight the day before your procedure unless otherwise instructed by your physician.
  • You may brush your teeth, but DO NOT swallow any water.
  • Try to go to bed early and get a good night’s sleep.
  • Make sure you have made transportation arrangements.

What To Do The Morning Of Your Surgery:

  • Take medications as ordered by your surgeon or doctor with a small sip of water (for example blood pressure, heart or thyroid medication).
  • Please leave ALL valuables at home for safekeeping.
  • Do not wear make-up, nail polish, or jewelry the day of surgery. This includes wedding bands and body piercings.
  • If you wear glasses or contacts, please remember to bring your storage container for them or if possible, leave them at home. Make sure you have a responsible adult that will stay at the center to assist you after your procedure. If they must leave for any reason it is imperative we have a contact phone number where they can be reached.
  • For your safety, you will not be able to drive yourself home after your procedure. Please ensure that you have the support of a responsible adult to assist you. If transportation is an issue, please let us know in advance.
  • If you develop a fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or any other illnesses, contact your surgeon as soon as possible, as well as the center at 770.268.6006
